How Baker Hughes built a solution portfolio for oilfield operations

Oilfield operations are heavily dependent on highly reliable solutions that drive safety, performance, and sustainability under the harshest conditions. The use of cloud requires combining domain expertise with deep understanding of digital needs in the oilfield to manage these oilfield operations. Operators want faster decision-making and easy access, allowing the use of analytics and AI/ML to make better decisions in operating oilfield equipment. The nature of oilfields brings architectural challenges for building an integrated suite of applications. In this chalk talk, we discussed about how AWS services can be used to bring cloud capabilities to oilfield operations.

Smart serverless architecture for smart manufacturing

Manufacturing systems are typically production-critical and need to be highly available, scalable, and flexible enough for changing manufacturing processes. In this session, we learnt about architectural best practices, patterns, and lessons learned for solving typical smart manufacturing challenges in cloud solutions. Consider principles of how to break down the system into microservices, realize a highly configurable UI, use AWS IoT, and achieve a self-optimizing manufacturing system. All this is backed up with concrete examples from cloud-native shop floor systems at Audi.

Navigating decentralized futures

Navigating decentralisation is complex with many technology choices, operating models, and policy considerations. In this session we walked through a taxonomy that will help business and tech leaders navigate decentralization and its implications to the financial services industry. We deep dived into the payments use cases on central bank digital currencies. We also discussed how facilitating interoperability and interlinking between different CBDCs being developed around the world is critical if we are to fully realize their potential. This session aims to equip business and tech leaders with a clear understanding of key concepts, use cases, partnerships evolving in the decentralization space.
