State of Texas is driving IT services to make interacting with the government easier

As the second-largest state in the United States, with a population growth that is double that of California, Texas faces an impressive challenge. But it also has a clear vision of how it wants to deliver services.

State of Texas mandates

With more than 100 state agencies, Texas moved to digitize and automate its Shared Technology Services for the agencies it supports. Working with Capgemini, the state implemented the MSI model which delivers automatized IT monitoring and management.

Now the Department of Information Resources has a single view across servers, operating systems, network equipment, middleware, and applications. All of this means that the DIR can serve its stakeholders better. The changes implemented by Capgemini have modernized Texas’ aging IT infrastructure, reduced state-wide costs for services, and increased security and disaster-recovery capabilities.

MSI enjoy Taxas-size success

DIR is also exploring new technologies, such as robotic process automation (RPA), predictive analytics, and custom dashboards for a 360-degree view of its customers. A new Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution will also allow the DIR to serve state agencies better.

From better service delivery to cost savings, Texas e-government initiatives are transforming the way the state serves its internal and external stakeholders.
