Capgemini Launches Tech Challenge 4.0

09 Oct 2017

Capgemini, a global leader in consulting, technology and outsourcing services, today announced the launch of Tech Challenge 4.0 – the fourth season of a unique online hackathon designed to identify the best programmers and tech enthusiasts from across India. This hackathon aims to orient young techies to the skills needed in the age of digital disruption and provide them with the opportunity to solve real world business and human challenges using emerging technologies.

Following the success of Tech Challenge 3.0 last year, this year’s edition will scout for the top coders and tech professionals, and put their grey matter to the test through an intense coding and skills challenge in distinctive areas such as Cloud, Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and the Internet of Things, among others. The contest is open to all Indian citizens above the age of 18 years who possess a knack for innovation and disruptive technology.

Interested candidates can register online to participate, after which they will go through two levels of challenges; selected candidates will then compete in the live final hackathon. The final event will be conducted at the Capgemini Knowledge Park in Mumbai. The challenge rounds will comprise:

Level 1: Multiple choice questions based on the skill specific tech topics

Level 2: Case study presentations

Level 3: Live hackathon – participants work in teams of 5 for the final challenge, as well as work on their individual skills challenges

Winners will be selected based on their final presentations involving the use of emerging technologies to design innovative solutions and prototypes.

Ashwin Yardi, Chief Operating Officer at Capgemini in India said, “Digital is reshaping the technology sector, requiring us to invest in and offer opportunities to both aspiring and existing IT professionals to learn and work on new digital technologies. This year, our Tech Challenge has been conceptualized keeping in mind the huge opportunity we see in emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Internet of Things and Cloud. Tech Challenge 4.0 will be posing exciting challenges in these emerging technologies and will enable participants to be future-ready. We expect a huge turnout to participate and look forward to engaging with India’s sharpest tech minds who can design cutting-edge solutions for real world challenges.”

The previous season of Tech Challenge garnered an overwhelming response from over 74,000 participants. This year, Capgemini is celebrating its 50th anniversary milestone and the fourth edition of Tech Challenge is designed to capture the essence of the anniversary celebrations. The top 50 coders of Tech Challenge 4.0 will participate in the live final hackathon and create solutions to real world challenges using emerging digital technologies. The winning team will win a cash prize worth INR 3 lakhs and will also qualify for the opportunity to interview for potential employment at Capgemini. The contest is now live and registration is open until October 15, 2017.
