CGS culture: Adapting to a new federal growth model

Publish date:

As Capgemini Government Solutions (CGS) continues to grow and reach new frontiers, a constantly changing federal market drives us to continually adapt to the challenges ahead. Entering the new year, CGS adopted a new growth model that emphasizes the strength and expansion of go-to-market capabilities.

CGS developed and implemented a new federal growth model that aligns staff into seven key disciplines based on their current and potential roles, career goals, and skillsets. These disciplines add a new dimension to the firm’s account-centric market strategy, with each capability “pod” working in lockstep with market teams. The seven capability groups are as follows:

  • Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)
  • Application Development
  • Platform/Infrastructure-as-a-Service (PaaS, IaaS)
  • Digital Assurance
  • Professional Services
  • Managed Services
  • Business Intelligence Systems and Analytics.

CGS-Culture

Due to the overlap between these functional areas, capability leads work closely together to ensure a unified and thorough approach to tackle our clients’ biggest and most complex challenges. Therefore, communication and visibility are paramount, with capability teams sharing insight on opportunities for growth. Combined with our continued dedication to our clients’ missions, this structure will help the firm expand its client base while strengthening its talent base.

The 2021 growth model has a significant impact on optimizing the employee experience for all levels of CGS staff. By aligning staff to their respective disciplines, a strong emphasis is placed on people growth and career development, as employees are presented with unique opportunities to hone their skills and participate in initiatives with colleagues who share their passion. Additionally, capability teams provide training, resources, and networking opportunities and experiences to help employees grow in accordance with their goals.

Amidst these changes, the focus on clients remains central to the CGS market approach. As always, CGS takes pride in an Agile approach to changes in the market. Additionally, these capabilities align with Capgemini Group, allowing CGS to continue to apply best-in-class commercial expertise to the federal market.

Although recent times have been full of unpredictable changes, CGS continues to find opportunities to grow with respect to clients, colleagues, and community. As a result, we are uniquely positioned to leverage valuable capabilities while providing expansive career development opportunities for employees.
