Core systems integration for leading Hungarian insurance carrier

Client: Insurance carrier
Region: Europe
Sector: Insurance

A leading Hungarian insurance carrier launched a modernization program aiming to replace their core insurance policy administration systems to a unified out-of-band solution from a third-party vendor.

Based on our proven systems integration methodology and experience, we were selected as a systems integration partner for this program – with end-to-end responsibility for harmonizing the business processes and functional requirements. We aligned with eight business streams of the client, and two technical streams, as well as the team of third-party vendors, to ensure a smooth transition.

Challenge

The client had initiated a strategic, core insurance system transformation and modernization program – with all business portfolio (Life, Non-life, Other) and their existing, diverse and siloed core insurance systems within the scope of that program. The new core insurance system selected is AdInsure by Adacta FinTech.

The client did not have the capabilities, methodology and resources to drive and manage the systems integration activities for such a large-scale strategic transformation program with multiple business, IT and vendor stakeholders. There was therefore a need to involve an independent systems integration partner to ensure alignment between several business and technical streams, while supporting the client in meeting the program deadline and delivering to the highest quality.

Solution

Capgemini was selected as the systems integration partner for this 3 year-engagement, with overall responsibility for the seamless implementation and integration of the AdInsure solution.

We have provided a systems integration project team of eight, with an experienced systems integration engagement manager, business/IT integration stream leads, and a test manager working closely with the core insurance system vendor (Adacta) team, and with the client’s IT and business stakeholders.

Our project team is responsible for elaborating, finalizing, and getting approval for critical artefacts and deliverable items related to the design, planning, build, testing and go-live phase of the project.

Our responsibilities in the build and testing phase include the overall test management activities spanning from infrastructure, test environments, test strategy, test planning and test progress follow-up. While in the go-live phase we are responsible for business migration, cutover and roll-back planning, and for BCM, training, and documentation.

Benefits

During the due-diligence and gap analysis phase, the business requirement and functional design documents were evaluated by the Capgemini team, who immediately identified major issues and risks that could be addressed in the early stage of the project.

We ensured that the requirement and functional design documents compiled by various business streams were harmonized, integrated, complete, compiled with the highest quality standards, and delivered on time for the AdInsure’s and other vendor’s developer teams.

With our strong subject matter expertise in business and IT streams, ability to manage change requests and provide support and expertise for the developer teams, and with our proven systems integration methodology that is tailored and built according to our internal methodology building blocks (UPM, TMap, SEMBA, LAD/IAD and Migration), we will be providing the client with a comprehensive professional service during the entire program lifecycle.
