NAME: Antonio Pavón

Area of the Business: Group IT

Location: Madrid/Spain

How do you feel in the morning getting up and going to work at Capgemini?

Every morning, when I go to the office, I always feel a very positive energy. I’ve been at Capgemini for more than 20 years and I love being part of this great team.

What do you love about being an IT Business Partner?

My current role is IT Business Partner for Spain and Portugal, being the representative of the global IT department in front of the business areas, identifying and progressing digital transformation opportunities, informing the business communities on Group IT tools and roadmaps, and being their advocate in IT project portfolio management.

What I like the most in my current role is that allows me to have a view across the company. I am a highly service-oriented person and this position allows me to help in IT matters in any area of the company – not only in problem-solving but also providing new ideas and solutions.

How does Capgemini empower you to master your skills as an IT Business Partner?

Because Capgemini is a large company, I have access to a wide range of training programs to develop my competences and skills. I especially enjoy the international training available at the Capgemini University, where apart from the training itself, I can get in touch with and get to know colleagues from other countries.

How does Capgemini give you the autonomy to make decisions?

I believe that Capgemini is a results-oriented company, and from my experience, I feel that I can make my own decisions within my scope and in line with the priorities and strategic set within my responsibility area. This is important and valuable to me.

I strongly believe that my manager trusts me. We have weekly meetings with my manager and the rest of my European colleagues. We have open discussions and share information that could be useful for all the team. All that allows us to define general actions plans that each of us adapts to our specific country needs.

What do you love about the way of working at Capgemini?

I identify with the seven company values, my favourite being “Team Spirit”. We interact every day with people from different countries. We all work together as one team, no matter the distance between us, nor our different cultures. This contributes strongly to my personal as well as to my professional development.

How does this all combine for you to have passion for what you do?

Technology is my passion, so working in a leading technology company such as Capgemini is a privilege. I love meeting different people, learning about other countries and cultures. In my current role, I have the opportunity to do this – it’s very dynamic and I’m always learning something new.

What was the most memorable moment in your Capgemini journey?

I’m very proud of the good job done by Group IT during the COVID-19 pandemic. We reacted very fast and made it possible for the entire organization to work from home, keeping service quality and without relevant issues.

What are you an Ace at?

I’m good at listening to and understanding others. In my current position, it’s very important to quickly identify improvement points and propose the most suitable IT solutions to ensure proper support of company operations.
