Although utilities have greatly improved back office operations, they are still feeling pressure to increase the efficiency of routine activities.

A wide range of drivers is fueling this pressure: from deregulation and pricing wars, stricter government and industry compliance, aging infrastructure and workforce and greater customer expectations. In addition, utilities wish to be better prepared for unexpected incidents such as power outages.
