The supply and demand foundations of the consumer product and retail sector has been massively shaken by the COVID-19 pandemic. Online sales are expected to increase at their fastest rate in 12 years, accounting for 20 percent of all retail purchases in 2020.  At the same time, this spike in ecommerce came at a time of significant risk and disruption to supply. Grocery stores, pharmacies, and other retail outlets ran out of stock as the crisis first hit. Retailers struggled to keep their supply chains intact.
