My usual work day   I start my day with long hours of commuting to the office, getting in at 9:30 AM. I first review all my emails and accordingly schedule my day. I then review my personal calendar for the day’s activities and prioritize them.

I start my day with long hours of commuting to the office, getting in at 9:30 AM. I first review all my emails and accordingly schedule my day. I then review my personal calendar for the day’s activities and prioritize them.
Most days, there are 2-3 conference calls that I handle after lunch, so I prepare myself and plan accordingly for those by gathering necessary information. If I have a meeting to set up, I ensure that any information required is sent out in advance to the participants.
Lunch is a quick break where I grab a sandwich along with some discussion with colleagues.
Post lunch is typically taken up for meetings and discussions, as well as ensuring the days deliverables go out as scheduled.
After a 90 minute commute back home, on few evenings I do attend official calls, which is a requisite when working with global teams. However, I still manage to squeeze in some time to spend a call-free 2-3 hours with my kids before they are off to bed.
In my current role, there is a constant stream of changing information with varied priorities, which makes it challenging and fun at the same time, so almost every day is different!

Projects I’m proud of

Large enterprise billing and underwriting transformation engagements – where I worked as a business analyst defining requirements for complex custom systems designed from the ground up with multiple interfaces and connections. We implemented a complex system on time after many months of changing requirements and lots of challenges, and it felt good to have the client call out my contribution individually for this.

Large sales opportunities for financial services – worked as a business analyst and bid manager on large transformational deals. It is a very fulfilling experience to work on something that brings in business to the company at that scale.

Application and maintenance project for an insurer – worked as the Off shore service delivery manager providing 24*7 support services for a complex legacy system in a multi-offshore-location model. It feels great to be a part of a high-performing team that you have helped set up, especially when your client appreciates the work being done.

My personal life

I like to spend a lot of time with my family on weekends. My twins keep my wife and me constantly on our toes, though we enjoy every minute of it. I like to read fiction and watch sports, mostly cricket and American football.
