Tell us about your role. What does a day in your life at Capgemini look like?

Every day is filled with new challenges as I chalk out my priorities by preparing a ‘to-do list.’ It includes performing essential functions like attending to stakeholders, business meetings, developing new service offerings, PoVs, executing DSF lead responsibilities, identification/pursuit of new business, people management, addressing team concerns, and more.

Data Strategy & Factory, a part of the Enterprise Data & Analytics (Capgemini Invent), is a growing service capability area for Capgemini, wherein I head a Data Consulting team. I play a critical role in strategic alliances, operations, sales, creating solutions, delivery, competency development, and people development. I lead a team of over 70 consultants with new-age technologies and diverse backgrounds such as Data Science, Data Engineering, BI, BA, Data Analyst, etc., based out of Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Gurgaon. My role enables me to pivot and respond to our critical business needs to help drive revenue for multiple engagements.

Everyone is very approachable, irrespective of their position, primarily because people believe in sharing their knowledge, thus making the work environment more exciting and comfortable.

What makes you proud to work at Capgemini?

The freedom to express my views and the trust reposed in me to make decisions on work is something I truly cherish. I always pass this on to my subordinates. All projects are executed diligently with great teamwork. Our work culture based on a highly personalized work approach towards our clients results in winning their trust.

Another crucial element is the diverse nature of projects and challenges that we get an opportunity to work on, this allows me to explore my skills beyond my comfort zone.

How are you working towards the future you want?

My stint with Capgemini started in 2015. I feel blessed to be part of such a great organization and practice, where I am exercising and fulfilling the seven cherished values of Capgemini. Being a part of this company has helped my growth significantly and it encourages me to achieve more each day.

During this period, Capgemini has given me an opportunity to work on various technologies and domains, spanning across different geographies and people. More so, the leadership gives me the freedom to experiment in my role. I can realize my potential by showing ownership, accountability, and responsibility for multiple engagements alongside sales activities and competency development.

I believe I have the capability to manage a big team and lead the practice. I aspire to see myself leveraging my strengths, innovative mindset, market knowledge, and team network to expand my existing portfolio, and lead a practice that would help develop new revenue streams.

What advice would you give to someone joining Capgemini?

My advice would be, if you have the skills and dedication to learn new things and take up opportunities, Capgemini is the place to be! You will be in awe of the array of projects and the people here. The technology, the learning opportunities, and the lively people play a huge role as enablers that help create business leaders rather than engage in typical delivery work.

How do you think Capgemini’s support has been since the pandemic began?

The Group has been exceptionally vigilant of the health and wellbeing of its employees by setting up helpline numbers and enabling doctors to provide emotional support and guidance in these testing times. In addition to work-from-home arrangements, they conducted virtual yoga and meditation sessions regularly. Furthermore, the Group has been actively conducting vaccination drives for its employees and their dependents across locations while providing support with COVID care facilities.
