Alcatel Lucent Enterprises (ALE), a global telecommunications, communications and networking solutions provider was spun off from Alcatel-Lucent Group and was faced with the challenge to build a new global HR organization from scratch covering 50 countries and simplify its HR processes. The target to implement this change was 12 months.
The application ALE selected to help achieve the rapid timescales and simply HR process was SAP SuccessFactors. The key HR processes deployed used SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, SAP SuccessFactors Performance & Goals, and SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management solutions. Some further details of the implementation are included in our presentation. Key learnings from the project which enabled the realization of these benefits included early data management planning, care on level of detail required on extracts for reporting and workflows, and to carefully consider the timing of a single go-live against the business calendar. Other enablers we found help similar projects include the drive to standardization, localization control, and data protection management which may include consultation with works councils.
To summarise the results and benefits for ALE include standardised, fast reporting on key performance indicators, goals, and performance. Approval paths and workflows, were also seamlessly connected, freeing up more time for core business. Employee data for management decisions was made instantly available helping to create a more agile, entrepreneurial corporate culture. The implementation target of 12 months, was reduced to 6 months.
