Capgemini’s “SAP IoT-in–a-BOX”– from Acquisition-to-Action: Start your IoT journey today

Internet of Things (IoT) is the key enabler for Industry 4.0 revolution. It makes the vision of Smart Factory a reality – where machine intelligence, predictive quality, predictive maintenance and services, automated shop floor management, smart forecasting, planning, and scheduling are becoming the new normal.

In today’s world of Digital (Innovative) disruptors, manufacturers have to realign their existing growth strategies to secure their future. Consequently, SAP and Capgemini have come together with a joint initiative called “Fast Digital 4 Discrete Industries (FD4DI)” to help clients in the discrete manufacturing industries manage digital transformation as they seek to maximize the potential of Industry 4.0, the Internet-of-Things, and innovative manufacturing techniques.

While FD4DI initiative brings industry-specific Digital Transformation approach, it also provides various frameworks, tools, and accelerators –one of them is “SAP IoT-in-a-BOX” solution from Capgemini. The solution is pre-configured, plug-and-play, scalable, and available as a “Solution-as-a-Service”, which could enable our clients to start their digital transformation journey quickly by leveraging the featured use cases of “SAP IoT-in-a-BOX”.

The solution is built on the SAP Leonardo IoT Platform, harnessing the benefits of cloud computing, predictive capabilities, and tight integration with SAP S/4 HANA backend system. The sensors and machine retrofitting services are being provided by Capgemini’s  partner IFM and this makes it an end-to-end IoT solution – from Acquisition-to-Action (5A model of IoT from Capgemini).

SAP IoT-in-a-BOX accelerate in achieving the use cases, where sensors will trigger action with SAP S/4 HANA system in an intelligent way. It should offer the following business values:

·        Increased process efficiency

·        Real-time supply chain

·        Move from reactive to predictive model of business
