Tell us about your role. What does a day in your life at Capgemini look like?

I’m a Client Director in Wellington. I build relationships with clients to understand their organisation, industry and the outcomes they’re trying to achieve. I use these learnings to bring them innovation, creative solutions and the best of Capgemini’s services to help them achieve their goals and support their journey towards success.

What’s the best thing about working at Capgemini?

The best thing about working at Capgemini: he tangata (it’s the people). My colleagues all care deeply about our clients, as do I, and we all work hard to help our clients and provide the best services that we can. But we also enjoy lots of camaraderie and lightheartedness along the way.

What makes you proud to work at Capgemini?

Capgemini takes sustainability and social responsibilities very seriously, which I value. Large organisations must set high standards and targets to protect the planet, and not wait for governments to make the necessary changes. I’m proud that my company is committed to helping our clients reduce their carbon footprint and move towards regenerative and sustainable business practices while leading the way ourselves.

How are you working towards the future you want?

As part of my ongoing professional growth, I am interested in deepening my knowledge of Te Ao Māori and Te Tiriti O Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi). Ten years ago, I arrived in Aotearoa, and though I’ve learned a great deal about Kiwi culture and doing business here, I still have a lot more to learn about our history and language. I’m sure this education will help me improve how I serve our clients and community.

What advice would you give to someone joining Capgemini?

I’d encourage someone joining Capgemini to explore all the opportunities that will arise in the first few months and then be very selective about what they want to pursue. The opportunities can be overwhelming, so it’s wise to be thoughtful about which will take them towards their goals.
