Tell us about your role. What does a day in your life at Capgemini look like?

Currently, I am working for a client in the logistics and supply chain industry as a product owner of their order management system. The role requires deep understanding of the client’s business and processes and close collaboration with stakeholders on different levels. My workdays are mostly planned with meetings and calls on a wide range of topics, from regular standups, ad-hoc workshops, or upstreaming activities with my development teams, to alignment with other business areas for requirements and release planning, and more. I make sure my product backlog is maintained in the best interest of my client and the development downstream can deliver value to our client as expected.

– What’s the best thing about working at Capgemini?

One thing that I like very much here is that your personal choice of development is not only wishful thinking, but is backed by resources and organizational support. There are plenty of ways to keep your knowledge up-to-date or build up new skills. You can make use of the trainings and certification offerings, or exchange in communities of a certain technology, or simply seek advice from a talent pool of 350+ thousand.

– What makes you proud to work at Capgemini?

Capgemini is an ethical and inclusive employer that makes me proud. Here, we have enthusiastic professionals running initiatives like the Global Data Science Challenge to battle River Blindness in Africa; we are running WomensNet to foster exchange and networking for female colleagues; we are electrifying the car fleet by 2030; we appreciate and respect work life balance in projects. These examples in different areas are proof that the company’s values are manifested from leadership thinking to the day-to-day working environment.

– How are you working towards the future you want?

My wish to advance in my career and gain experience in my preferred domain has been fully supported by my PDL (people manager) since day one of joining Capgemini. Along with that, I also value every opportunity to engage in projects, support communities, network, and learn. Indeed, if you set up your goal, you will find enough help and support along your journey.

– What advice would you give to someone joining Capgemini?

If you are looking for learning and development opportunities, changing career from a non-tech background, experience in global collaborations and projects, a respectful and supportive working environment, or a business with a purpose, then Capgemini is the right company to join!
