Yesterday we announced that we’re launching a Group strategic initiative to expand our cloud capabilities with Amazon Web Services (AWS). We’re already a Premier Consulting Partner in the AWS Partner Network (APN) and an AWS Managed Service Partner, and this initiative aims to help our clients increase their business insights, agility, security and cost effectiveness to drive improvements in their business performance. It will focus on SAP migrations, mass application migrations, accelerated data center modernisation, artificial intelligence and machine learning.
An aim of the initiative is to innovate and build end-to-end solutions and accelerators in collaboration with AWS, engaging our global network of Applied Innovation Exchanges (AIEs) to bring automation, artificial intelligence and machine learning into customer solutions. As part of it, Capgemini UK will primarily focus on:
- Migration of enterprise SAP implementations to AWS to help enhance operational efficiency, allowing greater enterprise agility, cost effectiveness, security and the surfacing of new insights to drive business performance. (Capgemini is an SAP global partner, AWS-certified on SAP and positioned as a Leader in Gartner’s 2018 “Magic Quadrant for SAP Application Services, Worldwide”).
- Accelerated application renewal for the enterprise through mass application migration to deliver managed services and solutions on AWS and build new cloud native applications leveraging the extensive AWS ecosystem.
Paul Margetts, Managing Director, Business Unit UK, Capgemini (left) said: “We have been working with AWS for almost ten years, and announcing this strategic Group initiative sends a strong message to the market reinforcing the strength of our partnership and more importantly, our ambitions for growth together.”
In the UK, we worked with the Home Office to complete one of the UK’s largest cloud transformation projects in UK government, and one of the largest UK public sector implementations of AWS technology. Led by Civil Servants at the Home Office, and supported by Capgemini, Home Office’s long-standing partner, the AWS platform has given Immigration Technology the foundations for delivering lasting transformation that meets the needs of government and citizens in the future.
