As a young graduate, Capgemini paved the way for me to move from theory to practice, implementing a variety of strategic and business opportunities.

Tell us about your role. What does a day in your life at Capgemini look like?

I’m currently a consultant in the financial sector. I’m now working for a client specializing in the insurance sector and my role on this project is PMO (Project Management Office). In enterprise-sized organizations, it is the department that improves project management by standardizing processes and improving efficiency in order to ensure each department has what it needs to complete a project on time and within budget. What’s more, more internally, within Capgemini Invent itself, I’m part of the marketing team, we look after all the content publications on social networks.

I love having this dual role: on the one hand, externally with my client, I’m more involved in the strategic and business aspects of my role as a consultant, but internally with the marketing team at ‘Invent’, I’m putting my creativity and innovation to the fore.

What’s the best thing about working at Capgemini?

What I particularly like about Invent is the working atmosphere and the colleagues. I really feel at home here and I can really compare the atmosphere to that of a family business. We all help each other and the diversity means that we learn from each other, and that’s the key to success for me.

What makes you proud to work at Capgemini?

I’m proud to work for a company that listens to its employees. I really feel that our opinions count. As an example: every month we have to fill in pulse checks to give our feedback, we get regular touchpoints with managers, a shadow board has been set up this year to take employees’ opinions into account at the top, and so on. Everyone, at every level, is approachable, which makes communication more effective.

How are you working towards the future you want?

For me, health is the most important thing in life. I’m very sporty, I’m in a women’s football team and I like to surf in the summer. I’m very pleased that Capgemini takes the well-being of its employees into account. In fact, a number of activities are organized on a regular basis: paddle, yoga, running, bike at office, football, etc. We even have a gym with a sports coach. I’m convinced that this balance between work and sport not only leads to a healthy lifestyle, but also to better work skills and concentration.

What advice would you give to someone joining Capgemini?

One thing to say: go for it. If you’re afraid of the world of consultancy because it seems big, unknown and frightening, Capgemini Invent will reassure you with all its assets in terms of opportunity, business and the human side. Right from the start, you’ll be accompanied by a buddy and a consular who will be your mentors. What’s more, don’t be afraid to make mistakes, you’re here to learn and bounce back, so keep learning !
