Originally from North Macedonia, I finished my bachelor’s in computer science in 2016 and started working with software development. During this time, I then simultaneously started my master’s in data science and engineering, and I finished my last term in Sweden, following a scholarship at Linnaeus University. After my graduation, I continued working with software development, BI and ERP systems for a couple of years, before joining Capgemini in 2021 as a Data Engineer. 

Since then, I have specialized in Microsoft Azure, Databricks and SQL, while mainly working on assignments in the automotive domain.

What made you decide to apply to and join Capgemini? 

Once I started working with data migration within a cloud environment, I realized that the data field was a field that I was interested in pursuing. Therefore, I wanted to work in a company where I would be able to improve my skills as well as acquire new ones. Capgemini seemed like a place where I could grow professionally in my career, while at the same time be surrounded by other professionals working within the same field. I think it is important to be able to share knowledge with each other, and here at Capgemini that is possible.  

Tell us about your role. What does a day in your life at Capgemini look like?

I work with designing and building data infrastructure to help clients achieve data-driven decision-making. My tasks mainly include building pipelines to ingest data from different sources, transforming data into meaningful information, performing optimization and ensuring security. I really enjoy the designing part of my everyday work, partly due to my interest in architecture. 

Other than that, I try to contribute as much as I can to the competency area called Platform and Engineering that we have within Insights & data unit at Capgemini, which revolves around knowledge sharing.

How does Capgemini support your development?

My development is supported in different ways at Capgemini. The most crucial way is through having a plan for my career path, based on where I am currently in my career, and where I would like to be in the future. Together with my team manager we break it down into steps and set objectives on how to get there. There is also the opportunity to take training courses and certifications to achieve your goal, explore new technologies and gain new knowledge. 

What characterizes the people and culture at Capgemini?

Well, something I noticed early on once I joined Capgemini, is the importance of work-life-balance and how seriously it’s taken. Then there is also the focus on equity. Capgemini provides a diverse, open-minded environment, where everyone, regardless of their background can feel comfortable. It is something I highly appreciate with the company. 

Moreover, we have the possibility to work in a way that is best for us as individuals. We also get opportunities to socialize with our colleagues in different settings. For example, within I&D we have “Team Thursdays” at the office in Malmö where we meet up at the office and have fika with the team. There is also a sports club and an art club. So, there are ways to keep the social part with colleagues in other contexts, rather than just within assignments or meetings.

When it comes to myself, I always try to join the “Team Thursday” and since starting at Capgemini, I have had the chance to try out a variety of sports that were new to me!

What makes you proud to work at Capgemini?

The fact that all of us at Capgemini really try to live up to the values we have. The values are not just talked about, they are implemented in our everyday life at the company.
