“I can genuinely say that the IgnITe Graduate Program has been the best transition into work life from school!”

What made you decide to join Capgemini?

I am originally from Gothenburg, and I recently graduated with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Chalmers University of Technology. Following graduation, I wanted to explore something new and moved to Stockholm. I came across an exciting opportunity at Capgemini Engineering, which I had heard very positively about.

For me coming directly from the university, I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to work with. I am a curious person and enjoy trying out new things. I highly prioritize the flexibility of the office’s location, as it allows me to fully immerse myself in the new city experience as a newcomer. In every aspect, Capgemini proved to be the perfect solution for my professional and personal preferences.

Tell us a bit about your role at Capgemini.

Today I work as a Mechanical Design Engineer in a project, where I actively engage and contribute across various stages in the product and development process. Simultaneously, I am a participant in the IgnITe Graduate Program where I get to further enrich my professional journey by taking general courses in how to improve my consultancy skills.

What do you think about being a part of Capgemini´s trainee program – IgnITe?

After six months at Capgemini, I can genuinely and gladly say that the IgnITe Graduate Program has been the best transition into work life. Capgemini not only prioritizes work-life balance, something that also surprised me was the diversity of activities and events you can attend or even organize yourself internally.

By getting to know other Igniters with different competencies and backgrounds, I have learnt so much and I have found many close friends along the way. I get the best of two worlds by also being part of the Engineering Team where I work daily with more senior colleagues within my expertise and field. In a short time, I have built a solid network, received the consultant skills I need via the IgnITe Graduate Program and worked on interesting projects.

What is your best advice for a student who wants to start the IgnITe Graduate Program and a career at Capgemini?

For students aiming to join the IgnITe Graduate Program or Capgemini, my top advice is to stay true to yourself. Embrace every opportunity that presents itself, and don’t shy away from expressing what genuinely excites you. Whether it aligns with your existing passions or sparks a new curiosity.

Recognize that you don’t have to possess all the answers before starting – just like I didn’t. Learning will naturally unfold over time. Trust in your curiosity and remain open to the enriching experiences the program has to offer.
