“The willingness to help each other out, and to be supportive, is one thing that characterizes the people and the culture at Capgemini.”

Prior to joining Capgemini, I worked several years for a well-known German automotive brand within data and analytics. In 2021 I decided to join Capgemini where I started working as a data analyst within several different domains, while also mentoring our younger talents and leading the regional Visual Analytics Competency Area.

What made you decide to apply to and join Capgemini?

There are a lot of reasons! Some of which are, that I get to develop my technical skills, I get the chance to create value for a new, broader audience and I’m also being able to work with clients in different sectors and learn more about their businesses. But the most important reason for me, is that I get to know like-minded colleagues that share the same technical interest as I do.

Tell us about your role. What does a day in your life at Capgemini look like?

A typical day for me is usually spent at the office in Malmö with some of my colleagues, starting with some breakfast. The days varies a lot, but usually I have a few meetings spread out during the day and the rest is spent on development and/or problem solving.

I enjoy Thursdays since it’s the “office day of the week”, which means I get together with my colleagues, to catch up and fika.

How does Capgemini support your development?

I have a good dialogue with my manager who are highly aware of my needs and ambitions. Since the start, I’ve been given the support and freedom to be able to work on those things that I consider crucial for my development, like upskilling and learning new tools. My manager has also challenged me to take on projects that are in line with my interests which has helped me to develop even further.

What characterizes the people and culture at Capgemini?

I would say that the willingness to help each other out, and to be supportive is one thing that characterizes the people and the culture at Capgemini. An example of this could be that we support each other from a technical perspective when someone needs help interpret or write code. Another one could be more on a strategic level, on how one should proceed in a certain scenario in their project.

What is the best thing about Capgemini?

There is a lot of good things about Capgemini. One thing I do value a lot is the empowerment, both from the management and the community. For instance, sometimes you end up having to solve a complex case you haven’t gotten exposed to before. In those cases, the large community of enthusiasts or well-experienced colleagues is a major enabler in helping you succeed.
