I’m relatively new to Capgemini, having been here for only seven months, but I’ve never been happier in my career. I’ve been in the IT field for over 25 years, primarily involved in implementations of business systems. Initially, I worked with SAP, but for the past 6 years I’ve been focused on Dynamics 365. I felt the need to change environment. Therefore, I began responding to job offers and that’s how I found my way to Capgemini.

How has your role at Capgemini contributed to your professional growth and development?

Despite working as a Program Manager, leading several projects, and managing teams for many years, I’ve continued developing over these past few months here at Capgemini. My experience and knowledge in SAP and Dynamics are extensive, and I feel familiar with role as a Program Manager. However. I sense that I have gained a deeper insight and understanding of the commercial aspects of implementing business systems. Still, I strongly believe there are numerous aspects I can continue developing, and I try to find new areas to explore – not just technically but also in a humanitarian way.

Tell us about your role. What does a day in your life at Capgemini look like?

I’m a Program Manager for a project where my team and I are assisting a client in implementing Dynamics 365. We’re currently in the midst of the development process, so we work closely with the client and within the team. Since we all work remotely, we hold a morning meeting every day. I value those 15 minutes where we have the opportunity to discuss work and catch up on each other’s lives – how we are doing, chatting about the weather, and so on. It’s nice to have those meetings, but we also have larger work meetings with the clients.  

As I mentioned earlier, we mostly work remotely, but there are days when we prefer to meet at the office for several reasons, such as when we need to test our work alongside the client. We have an ‘office day’ once a week, on Thursdays, so I aim to be at the office as much as possible.  

What characterizes the people and culture at Capgemini?

The support I’ve received here at Capgemini; there is a recognition and understanding of my knowledge and expertise among the managers. As well as the wonderful work environment and culture and how we work together, which I find to be fantastic and really sticks out. Although Capgemini is primarily an IT company, I feel that we’re also a people business. We take significant responsibility when meeting clients, understanding their needs, and developing systems. However, Capgemini is much more than that; building strong relationships with our team and colleagues are equally important, thus making Capgemini a people business.

What makes you proud to work at Capgemini?

It is when we work together as a team, pooling our efforts to find solutions for our client’s needs, that I find immense joy. What also makes me happy is being surrounded by people who are brave enough to take the initiative before seeking my help. Naturally, I am more than happy to help, but witnessing junior consultants challenge themselves and grow is truly rewarding in my work.
