We try to organize projects with multiple Capgemini employees, with a balanced mix of seniors and juniors as well as a good mix of expertise.”

– Tell us about your role. What does a day in your life at Capgemini look like?

In my current role, I’m responsible for developing and supporting cloud-based integrations within a leading automotive account. This means we enable other projects within the company to access the data that they need. During a typical day, I work closely with my co-workers in an agile way to design and develop sustainable and smart solutions that will enable the company to continue delivering value to the customers.

What’s the best thing about working at Capgemini?

The best thing about working at Capgemini is definitely the people. I could never have imagined how good the teamwork and synergy, inside and outside the projects, would be when I joined the company. This results in a good work atmosphere, with a healthy mix of fun and hard work.

I have yet to meet a co-worker I didn’t hit it off with right from the start, and that is something I am truly impressed by. I really believe this is a result of the Capgemini Values.

What makes you proud to work at Capgemini?

I truly appreciate the project strategy that Capgemini strives towards, in that we try to have healthy long-term relations with our clients. But also, that we try to organize projects with multiple Capgemini employees with a balanced mix of seniors and juniors, as well as a good mix of expertise. This, alongside Capgemini’s active initiatives to help people keep learning, has really made my time here a learning experience. It’s a place to keep growing, and something I am very proud of.

How are you working towards the future you want?

I am still on my first project since joining Capgemini, but I have really been enabled to learn and grow a lot. I have been part of a well-structured team, and I have the chance to learn DevOps and be a part of self-organizing agile teams. In order to upskill myself in the area of DevOps, I have also been trained in Azure systems. This will definitely help me move closer to my goal of becoming a full-stack developer.

And when I’ve learned everything there is to learn where I am right now, I’ll be satisfied to know there are other opportunities within the company where I can keep trying new things. Having the possibility to keep growing is the future I want.

What advice would you give to someone joining Capgemini?

My advice would be to actively network and to keep trying new things, especially if you think you would be happier and more driven doing something else after a while. There are endless opportunities within a company like Capgemini, which actively supports people to broaden their experience.

How do you think Capgemini’s support has been since the pandemic began?

The new normal way of working has set in, and is continuously being adapted to ensure that people are rightly equipped to work in a virtual environment, while keeping connected to the physical workspace.
