Cloud infrastructure management

Tell us about your role. What does a day in your life at Capgemini look like?

In my role I’m responsible for deploying, running and maintaining private and public cloud’s infrastructure for various clients. That’s a big thing because it’s all about big data – one of the most popular technology concepts in the market today. Together with my team-mates, I make sure that the platforms used to harness the data are working properly.

The average day for me starts with a quick look around on the managed environments and recent emails. Next, I have a meeting with my colleagues to discuss the current challenges and problems so everyone’s on the same page. Then it comes to a coffee together – mostly a virtual one these days. Throughout the day, I focus on the ongoing tasks, which include many interesting challenges and project work. We have client meetings to better understand customers’ needs and keep on improving the business relationship together. I don’t forget about lunch and other breaks to keep my brain limber.

Last but not least, I spend some time improving my professional competencies by taking part in a variety of available online training programs or documentation studies.

The shared sense of humor allows us all to get through any stressful moments and brings enjoyment to the work I’m doing. It’s worth mentioning that there are many opportunities to support career development in Capgemini. It would be a sin not to mention that I really enjoy a variety of company events, where you can have great fun and come away with a lot of good memories.

How are you working towards the future you want?

I hope to develop my technical and business competences within the company to fulfil my future career’s aspirations. I can definitely say that I’m supported by my supervisors and colleagues to achieve this goal through multiple upskilling opportunities, available both via digital and classroom facilities.

What advice would you give to someone joining Capgemini?

I would advise new joiners to be themselves, and to follow the best company practices which are demonstrated by more experienced colleagues. Since joining Capgemini a long time ago, I always aim to stay focused on what’s really important, and to maintain high standards in all key aspects of my current and future roles.
