What attracted me to Capgemini

I appreciate the diversity of the people who work here. It’s not weighted specifically toward one industry or educational background. In consulting, it’s all about finding different solutions – and those often come from diverse people and experiences.

How onboarding set me up for success

My onboarding included a week of virtual training with HR, and two weeks in the US where I met my entire cohort. The relationships I made early on have been so great to carry forward. I learned about business alignment, and got to participate in a mock client presentation to Capgemini executives where my team was able to win first place! This entire experience allowed me to get an understanding of skills I will need to use to excel in my role.

My Capgemini journey

I started at Capgemini as a new grad. At university, I had honed my project-management skills through co-op work experience placements. Now I map out projects for Capgemini clients and our tech team. My days start by running our team standup, and then I take the status updates and translate them into dashboards.

How I’m empowered to upskill

In my first couple of months, it took time to get familiar with the terminology – both in my client’s industry (agriculture) and on the consulting side. Capgemini provides opportunities to get your feet wet on projects, and the autonomy to determine what tasks need to be done within the timeframe and budget. Everyone supports your skill development.

The Capgemini value I relate to the most

Team spirit for me is number one, and it is critical to the work we do on both client-facing and internal initiatives. I’ve helped with recruiting events and career fairs, our employee appreciation lunch, and the holiday party. For me, it’s a way to feel more involved with the company and the culture. It’s what makes me excited to come to work and be proud to work at Capgemini.

The best thing about working at Capgemini

Everyone is approachable! Every time I go to the office, I always make a point to meet someone new and gain some insight about how the company works. It’s never bad to make more connections in your company.
