Participating businesses conduct online seminars and workshops with the aim of empowering and upskilling non-profit organizations on a pro bono basis. Barbara was astonished when she found out her class was the second-most subscribed. \u201cI was completely shocked,\u201d she says. \u201cThe organizers told me 100 people had signed up. It turned out the number was actually 250.\u201d<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"wp-block-cg-blocks-group undefined section section--article-content\"><div class=\"article-main-content\"><div class=\"container\"><div class=\"row\"><div class=\"col-12 col-md-11 col-lg-10 offset-md-1 offset-lg-1\"><div class=\"article-text article-quote-text\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-adjusting-expectations\">Adjusting expectations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Barbara conducted the talk in German, which is not her first language. \u201cI was concerned people would notice my mistakes,\u201d she says. \u201cBut once I started, I realized that didn\u2019t matter. They were simply interested in what they could learn.\u201d The fact the session was online rather than face-to-face also proved to be no obstacle. \u201cI was blown away by the energy and enthusiasm I could feel from the participants,\u201d says Barbara. \u201cIt was something I didn\u2019t expect from a virtual workshop.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-maximizing-value\">Maximizing value<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For not-for-profit organizations, understanding how to maximize the value from LinkedIn and social media can be crucial. \u201cIt can become a reliable source of donations, further pro bono work, as well as future collaborations,\u201d explains Barbara. \u201cI was also really honest about the need to self-publicize because non-profit organizations need clear and candid advice.
