First, as of the past decade, cybersecurity threats have increased and changed dramatically. Legacy methods, such as antivirus and firewall together with patch management, used to be pretty good prevention methods but can no longer thwart the modern attacker. Hackers can easily bypass existing controls and operate within a network and systems for weeks, sometimes months, before they are detected \u2013 if they are detected at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Secondly, larger organizations have been building security operations centers (SOCs) for years, but their cost is prohibitive for many smaller and medium-sized organizations. SOC-as-a-Service (security operations center as a service) strives to meet this demand and enable enterprises to engage and secure their networks and systems at less cost, if choosing solution for a SOC-as-a-Service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Third, Article 33<\/a> of the GDPR<\/a> requires organizations to report data leaks and data breaches, including measures taken to manage and respond to such breaches, within 72 hours. There will be a major gap between needed skills and available ones.
