#Gradathon: A dream come true

I am Edgar Diomande from Ivory Coast in West Africa, graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in finance. I recently joined Capgemini as a staff consultant data analyst within the Insight and Data practice in Chicago. Joining Capgemini was a dream come true: I knew that it was an opportunity that would allow me to learn, be challenged and grow along the way.

Joining Capgemini has been one the best decisions I have made in my life, indeed I realized it very early on during the onboarding process. During the two weeks of onboarding in Chicago, IL I had the opportunities to learn about the firm and its different business units. It was a wonderful experience, as it allowed me to connect with fellow staff-consultants, senior consultants and executives.

Right on I adopted the company culture, it felt like home, and I knew that I would be here for the long run. The most defining moment of onboarding was week 2, as we were challenged and learned to work in teams, which is a vital skill to any successful consultant.

In a very restrained time as a team with different backgrounds and skills, we came together and applied what we learned in the seminar on collaborating with clients to delivering a proposal that would enable a retail company to digitize its business operation in a fictional context. Our final product was a complete success, as the Capgemini methodology enabled us to work in an unknown environment and trust our teammates, to deliver a product that would meet the client’s satisfaction and expectations.

I truly believe Capgemini is the right firm for me, as I am eager for challenges, as well as personal and professional growth. The wonderful people that make this organization want you to be successful not only in your assignments, but in your career as a whole. I would highly recommend to any ambitious recent grads or young professionals to consider Capgemini because here people matter and results count.
