Capgemini was recognized in 2020 as one of the “World’s Most Ethical Companies®” by the Ethisphere® Institute, for the eighth consecutive year – a distinction that highlights our commitment to ethical leadership, compliance practices, and corporate social responsibility.
“Since our Group was founded, we have always believed that sound ethics and integrity are invaluable assets for profitable and sustainable business. We aim to set the highest standards in this respect – to be a true Leader for Leaders. This award recognizes the ethical behavior that makes Capgemini an exemplary responsible player in the eyes of our clients, shareholders, and the wider community, and an employer of choice for our people.”
Paul Hermelin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Capgemini Group
The World’s Most Ethical Companies® recognition was launched in 2007 to publicly recognize and celebrate companies that demonstrate real ethical leadership within their industries. Capgemini is honored to be recognized once again for its high ethical standards and practices. We are constantly evolving to be at the forefront of our industry, trusting our core Values to guide us forward. We aim to make accessible the benefits emerging through opportunities in areas such as cloud, digital, and artificial intelligence (AI). As leaders, we also aim to set the ethical standards for our industry, to build an ethical future for all stakeholders – clients, team members, shareholders, and the wider community.
Why is this recognition important?
The momentum behind an integrity-based approach to business is undeniable. Ethisphere quotes a recent Forbes Insight and Deloitte Global study which found that 93% of respondents believe that companies are more than mere employers – they are societal stewards. Edelman’s 2019 Trust Barometer reports that employees have far more trust in their employers than in the government or media. The study also shows that these employees are more engaged, loyal, and committed.
The World’s Most Ethical Companies® program honors companies that excel in three areas – promoting ethical business standards and practices internally, enabling managers and employees to make good choices, and shaping future industry standards by introducing tomorrow’s best practices today. Honorees have historically out-performed others financially, demonstrating the connection between good ethical practices and performance that’s valued in the marketplace.
The Capgemini Ethics & Compliance program is also about reputation and trust. We cherish the reputation we have worked hard to build over many years. Throughout the year, we build on our distinctive combination of assets – our passion for technology, our expertise, and an agile and collaborative way of working – to recruit the best talent and earn the trust of the most demanding clients.
