“My top reasons for joining Capgemini Invent are the people, the inclusive and supportive company culture, and the steep learning curve.”

I have worked at Capgemini Invent for 4 years. I applied for the consultant position when I was writing my master’s thesis and then joined a few months after graduating. I studied Economics at Aalto University. I also completed the CEMS program during which I did an exchange semester at the University of St. Gallen. I completed my BSc in Economics and Law at Utrecht University in the Netherlands.

I am a part of the Enterprise Transformation team at Capgemini Invent. I have worked on projects in a variety of industries, including financial services, automotive, and telco. I have experience in regulatory implementation, business and operating model transformations, change management, and project management.

Tell us about your role at Capgemini Invent?

I am a Manager at Capgemini Invent. A typical day varies from project to project, as it largely depends on the scope and my role in the project. What stays the same from project to project, however, is that I tend to spend Monday to Thursday at the client’s office and Fridays at my home office. I am currently working on a project in Stockholm. I am a stream lead in my current project, so a typical day in Stockholm consists of working side by side with the client in meetings and workshops. Fridays I spend at my home office working on the project remotely. I try to minimize the number of meetings I have on Fridays, so I have the time to plan the following week, but also so that I have time to catch up on any internal work I might have and also with colleagues I haven’t seen during the week.

Tell us about your favorite project so far?

One of my favorite projects to date has been in the financial services sector. I worked on a 6-month regulatory implementation project at a European bank implementing anti-money laundering laws. I enjoyed the project because it impacted all business areas and group functions, so we had to dig deep into the processes of the whole organization. I was in a team of 3 and we had the best time working together.

Looking back at your first years at Capgemini Invent, what are your key takeaways?

My first takeaway from my years at Capgemini Invent is that it is important to find a company that has a culture that fits with your values and what you want out of your career. Although that is easier said than done, I think this is something you can try to evaluate during the interview process as you tend to meet many people at different levels in the company. Secondly, I have found that keeping organized and working in a structured way will help you be more productive in your work and allow you to multitask more effectively.

What makes Capgemini Invent stand out?

Capgemini Invent is the management consulting arm of a large technology, IT consulting and outsourcing firm, so although we do cooperate on some engagements, it almost feels like a small company within a larger organization. This means that you are given a lot of responsibility early on, which in turn means you will be challenged in your work and will grow professionally.

How does Capgemini Invent support your development?

There are two main ways Capgemini Invent supports my development. First, there are several trainings organized throughout the year, both local and regional classroom trainings, but also online trainings. Secondly, each consultant has a counselor who is generally 1-2 career grades above their grade that can support them with their goals and development.

What characterizes the people and culture at Capgemini Invent?

We have a supportive and inclusive culture at Capgemini Invent. New joiners are taken in with open arms and from day one become a part of the team. People are friendly and helpful. It is important to me to have this type of work environment because I do spend quite a large part of my day with my colleagues. I often spend time with my colleagues outside of work as well.

Why should you join Capgemini Invent?

My top reasons are the people, the inclusive and supportive company culture, and the steep learning curve.
