I’ve been working in the IT field since 1989, and for the last 20 years I’ve focused on consultancy services, of which two of those years were spent at Capgemini. I enjoyed my time here, however, I wanted to try something new. So, for the past 18 months, I’ve worked for another employer in the fields of Analytics, Integration, Cloud and Asset Management. While I found that interesting, I felt once again the need to move forward. That’s how I ended up back here at Capgemini, which I’m very happy and excited about.

What are you most excited about in your role as a manager?

I genuinely look forward to meeting both old and new colleagues! I think that Capgemini, as a company, is constantly evolving. Therefore, I’m also looking forward to seeing everything that has happened since the last time I worked here. It’s wonderful to be back in a role that I feel familiar with, however, I look forward to seeing how I can apply my new knowledge to this role.

What about Capgemini brought you back?

When I left my last employer, I was lucky to have many doors open when searching for where to go next. But in the end, I gratefully chose to come back to Capgemini. There’re many reasons for that. Firstly, I genuinely believe that Capgemini has highly skilled and competent professionals who possess a diverse range of knowledge and experiences. Secondly, I’m constantly impressed by everyone’s engagement and contribution towards a better future. Both from a humanistic perspective, by taking clear stances on inclusivity and creating an ideal, modern, and pleasant work environment. But also, in terms of investing significant resources in extensive research projects, making substantial efforts towards sustainability, and constantly taking initiatives to create long-term impacts. Not only for ourselves and our company but also for society.

What characterizes the people and culture at Capgemini?

Capgemini is a good example of a modern global company. It’s a company that works dedicatedly on issues related to sustainability and inclusion. Ethics and morality are integral parts of our core values.

How would you define your style of leadership?

I believe in being a “present” leader. By that, I mean being present is two significant components of my work. The first is mentally present, which includes being engaged, devoted, and looking at the person for what they can become. To be present in every dialogue, and to make time to listen and understand. To be humble and understanding about a person’s needs and challenges. And of course, to respect every person. The second component is being physically present. We live in a time where a lot of the work can and is done remotely. Which is excellent and it gives a lot of opportunities to a lot of people. But as a leader, I believe it is an essential part to be there for your team physically.
