I have been working at Capgemini Invent for over two years now. I joined as a recent Industrial engineering graduate from Aalto University. Before graduating, I had experience from multiple summer jobs, typically working with digitalization and process improvement. I did a summer internship at Capgemini Invent which was a perfect way to get to know the company and to gain valuable experience.

Tell us about your role at Capgemini Invent?

My tasks at Capgemini Invent vary highly depending on the project, which keeps things interesting and provides endless opportunities for learning. In nature, I am a person who likes to synthesize which means that I try to combine complex ideas, information, and input together to form clear pictures and actionable plans. I do this by facilitating discussions between people and by adding sector and domain-specific insight from our project team. In many of the projects I have been part of, we have managed to scope my role to fit this way of working.

Tell us about your favorite project so far?

I was involved in a project where we worked with a large insurance company to help them drastically reduce operational costs and to be able to faster meet evolving customer expectations. During the project, we drafted the high-level business-, operating-, and organizational models as well as customer segments, a roadmap, and a business case for building a brand new “born digital” business unit from scratch. It was extremely interesting to work directly with the executive management of the client to completely revolutionize their core business.

Looking back at your first years at Capgemini Invent, what are your key takeaways?

No matter the challenge, with a good project team it can be overcome!

Tell us about the Business & Analysis Group (BAG) community and your role?

I am involved in the Employer Branding team which means that we organize various types of activities with student associations. I am also part of the “Invent Impact” team where we organize pro bono activities and work e.g. with climate change related topics.

I appreciate the counselor concept Invent has in place. Each Capgemini Invent employee has a dedicated counselor who acts as a mentor, guide, and coach to help the counselee in personal and professional development.

People at Invent are at the same time extremely professional and laid back in the right kind of way. We have a culture of delivering excellent results, but we also remember to have fun in the process!
