With a long and broad career within IT – beginning as a programmer and software developer, then switching to applications consultant in 2009 – Daniel joined Capgemini in 2020 to work with MS Dynamics. But after an 11-year tenure with his previous employer, the move to Capgemini was initially not an easy decision:

“I was really rather happy where I was; my colleagues were great… There was definitely some hesitation”, Daniel admits.

“I knew that if I were to leave, it had to be for a company that could truly deliver. And I had heard really great things about Capgemini from people working here. What finally convinced me is what I consider to be Capgemini’s ultimate strength: while some companies have star players and others have organization, Capgemini has both!”

When asked if there was anything that surprised Daniel about Capgemini after he finally decided to join, he stops and thinks for a while:

“There were no real surprises regarding the role, other than maybe how many opportunities for variation I have had. I have worked with sales and procurement, master data and migration, and it sometimes strikes me as amazing how a large employer like Capgemini can handle that huge amount of people in a structured manner, regardless of whether we are talking about career or business opportunities… Although I can’t say that bit surprised me; I had always heard that Capgemini walks the talk.”

“Perhaps it did surprise me just how little the pandemic seems to have affected us. Within the Dynamics teams, we are doing full speed ahead. Microsoft just named us BizApp partner of the year, everyone is pulling in the same direction, there is a strong sense of optimism and growth; we have a great time!”

It probably comes as no surprise that Daniel gladly recommends Capgemini as an employer whenever he gets the chance:

“I regularly try to convince previous colleagues to come and join me,” he laughs.
