The payment acquirers industry is becoming increasingly competitive, which is impacting the margins of each individual player. Acquirers are trying to preserve margins by offering value-added services. In addition to the price competition, which is putting pressure on acquirers, the growing concern of data breaches is also creating an impact and has led to greater compliance requirements for both acquirers and merchants. The industry is also witnessing a continual increase in mobile payments, as more consumers are using their mobile devices to pay for their purchases.
