Capgemini Canada Named Among Toronto’s Top Employers and Canada’s Best Diversity Employers

| News alert
New York, May 15, 2015 – Capgemini, one of the world’s foremost providers of consulting, technology and outsourcing services, today announced that Capgemini Canada Inc. has been recognized by Canada's Top 100 Employers Competition as a leading employer in two categories – as one of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers and among Canada's Best Diversity Employers.

The annual Greater Toronto Top Employers Competition recognizes employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work, and companies are compared to their peers to determine which offers the most progressive and forward-thinking programs. Capgemini was recognized for its employee-centric culture, which includes:

  • Helping employees achieve work-life balance through alternative work arrangements, including flexible hours, shortened and compressed work weeks and a telecommuting option
  • Cultivating an ownership culture through a share purchase plan, available to all employees, and offers a full suite of additional financial benefits, including signing bonuses for some, year-end bonuses, and referral bonuses for employees who successfully refer a candidate
  • Encouraging employees to save for the future with contributions to a defined contribution pension plan.

“At Capgemini, we continually strive to foster a rewarding environment where our people have creative freedom, can expand their skills and knowledge, and are recognized for their integral role in the value and innovation we provide clients,” said Jane Diercks, Vice President, Capgemini Canada. “This recognition as a top employer – and one with strong diversity and inclusion values – is testament to our ongoing efforts to build a great place for people to work and grow.”

Canada's Best Diversity Employers competition recognizes employers across Canada that have exceptional workplace diversity and inclusiveness programs. More than 3,500 employers started the application process for this year's competition, and Capgemini was recognized due to its:

  • Diversity and inclusion working council, monthly webinars and dedicated training on topics such as unconscious bias
  • Supplier Diversity Director who is responsible for liaising with related associations to increase the diversity of the company's supply chain and reports regularly on Capgemini's supplier base
  • Women LEAD network that provides growth, balance, and leadership opportunities for female employees, and serves as a liaison for the company's global gender diversity initiative, Women@Capgemini.

“As a global business that values diversity and inclusion, we’re honored to be recognized for our programming focused on further strengthening our people culture,” said Janet Pope, North America Diversity and Inclusion Leader, Capgemini. “Our inclusive culture within Capgemini Canada – and all across North America – significantly contributes to our collaborative nature and focus on innovative ways to engage our employees and serve clients.”

Canada's Top 100 Employers is an annual editorial competition to recognize the nation's best places to work. It is managed by Mediacorp Canada Inc., Canada's largest publisher of quality employment periodicals. Both recognitions were first announced in a special magazine published in The Globe and Mail.
