Arriva London is one of the biggest bus companies in the UK’s capital and operates under contract to Transport for London (TfL). Each year, Arriva London runs nearly 330 million passenger journeys in one of the world’s busiest cities. The company relies on Capgemini’s long term commitment to provide IT systems to underpin all of the key London bus operations. Core activities include crew scheduling, operational staffing, revenue accounting, performance monitoring and mileage planning.

Arriva London has decided to extend the applications management contract with Capgemini from 2009 to 2019. This long-term support will be provided from the UK. The contract enables the bus company to continue to achieve real reduction in costs to their business with the use of Capgemini’s software suite for bus operators which allows for a high degree of automation of business processes. Furthermore, these cost reductions enable Arriva London to both competitively and successfully bid for tendered routes by TfL, making the IT partnership a vital ingredient in Arriva London’s success.
