What\u2019s missing to make this career algorithm work? Just one thing &#8211; titanic work. Meet Micha\u0142 Jawulski, the man who connects it all, looking after architectural development in our clients&#8217; systems.<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\"><strong>What actually pulled you in here?<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\">I\u2019ve been here for 10 years. Back then, I was looking for a place that bets on the latest technologies and would allow me to develop in .NET, in a universal, market-ready way, not specific to just one firm.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\">I was also drawn to large, diverse projects and &#8211; most importantly &#8211;&nbsp; a clearly defined career path. That sold me. At the interview, they explained the structure &#8211; besides the project manager, there is a line manager, and they also shared the entire development path. Junior, Mid, Senior, Architect, mapped to grades A, B, C, D, all described with roles and responsibilities. You know precisely what you must do to level up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\"><strong>You jumped to Grade D pretty fast. What drove you?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\">There are two answers: the official one and the humorous one. Which do you want first?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\"><strong>Let\u2019s have the humorous one&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\">Two weeks in, I accidentally overheard managers in the kitchen talking about company cars. It turned out you get them at Grade D. So, at a meeting with my then-line manager, Ada, I asked a simple question: <em>&#8220;What do I have to do to be Grade D and get the car?&#8221;.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\"><strong>And what did she say?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\">She said, that It\u2019s a distant perspective, but I certainly need to perform at a higher level and get involved in company life. <em>I was told that usually such a path takes a decade, and a &#8220;realistic, yet very ambitious&#8221; horizon is 6 years. And indeed,<\/em> in my sixth year of work, I scrambled up to Grade D. I picked a Swedish SUV (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\"><strong>Okay, and the official version?<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\">I am rather ambitious, and at Capgemini, ambition meets development opportunities. That was my case. I had a clearly defined path and a to-do list, so I rolled up my sleeves and worked hard.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\">I used training to upgrade my skills, and I was lucky to work on interesting projects. I worked with technologies such as .NET, Angular, and React, and now, as an Architect, I handle AI-based solutions. I\u2019ve been through a bit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\"><strong>What should a candidate take away from this?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\">Today, there are more steps &#8211; B1, B2, C1, C2, and only then D. But I\u2019d like applicants to remember that this isn&#8217;t a story about a car, rather about self-awareness, goal setting, consistency, and the strength to execute them. And that you simply have to have the hunger to learn. The firm will help a lot, but it won&#8217;t do the heavy lifting for anyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\"><strong>What are you working on right now?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\">Currently, I work as a Software Architect and Technical Leader on TypeScript-based projects. I lead the team on the Polish side and handle the architecture for a large project at an international financial institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\"><strong>Specifically?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\">We are introducing AI-based contextual search into the client&#8217;s application. Instead of typing keywords like &#8220;card block,&#8221; you can ask: <em>&#8220;I lost my card, what now?&#8221;.<\/em> The system is supposed to understand the context and suggest which cards to block.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\"><strong>What is the most interesting technical challenge in this role?<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\">Artificial Intelligence, hands down. It is literally working on a living organism. We are using OpenAI via Microsoft Azure to convert text into numerical vectors (embeddings). Thanks to this, we can determine how closely a given phrase is related to our data and provide the most accurate answer. Interestingly, the client is mega-open and encourages us to propose additional AI solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\"><strong>Let&#8217;s think about someone who wants a role like yours. What skills do they need?<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\">You need to be mindset-oriented toward solving problems. You must be a partner to the client and understand what they want to achieve. Moving on, broad technical skills are required. As an Architect, you must present the client with a feasible and effective way to realize their needs. And a &#8220;must-have&#8221; is good communication in English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\"><strong>You said that at Capgemini, ambition meets opportunity. How did the firm support your growth?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\">At the start of my journey, I had a lot of time and eagerly took part in off-project training. There were plenty of them, and they were genuinely valuable. However, today, having a family and kids, I highly value our complex daily project work. That develops you the most because it allows you to translate that training theory into practice. That\u2019s how I learned Angular, React, Cloud, and everything I know about AI.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\"><strong>Why should a Junior choose Capgemini?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\">Because they will see how the latest knowledge works in practice and will work within well-organized processes.
