The Return to Work program has allowed me the opportunity to pursue the future I want because I have an accessible path to move with in and out of the workforce and bounce between potentially having a family and having a career. Having this window of opportunity that\u2019s opened up now allows me to keep exploring exactly what future I want because there is a flexible pathway to do it!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

What have been your proudest moments at Capgemini?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

I am proud of Capgemini giving us the freedom and the flexibility to pursue opportunities beyond our roles in our Capability teams. Where I can relate this too is with the Capgemini values of boldness and freedom. It allows us the flexibility to work beyond our role to explore gaps within the business and explore opportunities for improvement. Relaunch at Capgemini program is a perfect example this. Being granted the freedom and trust to go establish and create a program for women returning to work as well as having the freedom to be bold and stand up as a female to say this is important progression for the Company to make was monumental to me. The honesty of the Capgemini team to come to the table provide acceptance to this program was a testament to Capgemini\u2019s embodiment of the value boldness to investment into a new and worthwhile cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was important because my work life and many like mine won\u2019t have linear consistent journeys in the workforce, it\u2019s going to be in and out in different durations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How are you getting the future you want at Capgemini<\/strong>?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

A major thing that I joined Capgemini and consulting was for flexibility and options. I always had a fear that one day I was going to have to choose between my career, personal life or family options. I think by Capgemini being so open, receptive and investing in the diversity and inclusion, it has allowed for this flexibility. As an offset of that, the Return to Work program has allowed me to understand that I am going to get the future I want because I have an accessible path to move with in and out of the workforce and bounce between potentially having a family and having a career. The window of opportunity that\u2019s opened up now allows me to keep exploring exactly what future I want because there is a pathway to do it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What has been your favourite moment at Capgemini?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

My favourite memory was being involved in a Global Women at Capgemini leadership incubator challenge during Covid. This incubator challenge placed us in groups with consultants across the Capgemini ecosystem in different countries. The task was to explore effects of Covid on Women and what Capgemini could do support, retain and attract women to grow our numbers in leadership teams. The experience was great to connect with other consultants across the globe and hear the challenges facing women but also the opportunities to seek for the future. It was damn cool that we could come together to work on potential solutions that would work globally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How are you able to manage work and life at Capgemini?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

When I first started to where it is now, it has changed a lot. Over the past few years, Capgemini brought in a  Head of Diversity and Inclusion lead, and in addition to that the leadership rallied and emphasised the importance of this role and it\u2019s effect on culture. Because of having a D&I lead driving initiatives to increase diversity, I feel like our diversity has flourished in the past few years. The more diversity I feel like there has been people that relate to my circumstance in my life, whereas when we first started there was a typical gender stereotype that worked between 9 to 5 or beyond those hours. The diversity in the team now, we have a lot of other resources and employees and team members that need that flexibility and actually understand the balance between work and other commitments. It needs to be kind of a happy union and a happy blend. And having that flexibility in the leadership especially with women that need to either have flexi working hours for taking care of their kids or other people with cultural backgrounds where they are the primary carer of their elderly parents. The more people and more diversity we get, the more situations and living styles we get, which makes everyone very much more accommodating between your work life and your home life. Just having that diversity in the leadership allows people to have open conversations to enable the balance between the two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What advice would you give to the next generation of female leaders?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Be curious. Your curiosity and exploration into ideas, topics and visions could pave the way to your future and a future for others where opportunities did not previously exist. The power is in your hands to take yourself on an adventure and get the future you want.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
