Waarom? Bedrijven aarzelen vanwege winstverlies, politici vrezen stemmenverlies, en consumenten willen het makkelijk hebben. Een impasse die doorbroken moet worden. Momenteel steunt het beleid vooral op vrijwillige aanpassingen en subsidies, maar dit stimuleert te weinig vooruitgang. Wat moet er veranderen?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-wortel-en-stok\">Wortel en stok<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>De overheid kan via beloning (de wortel) of dwang (de stok) motiveren. Normerend beleid met wetgeving en actieve handhaving blijkt in veel Europese landen succesvol. Nederland moet meer sturen op duurzaamheid.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-meer-stok-in-het-beleid-nbsp\">Meer stok in het beleid&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Normerend beleid dwingt bedrijven tot duurzame actie en cre\u00ebert een eerlijker speelveld. Het verankert duurzaamheid in organisaties en biedt duidelijkheid. Inspiratie kan gehaald worden uit landen als Zweden en Denemarken, waar strenge wetten met goede handhaving de norm zijn.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-weerstand-in-nederland-nbsp\">Weerstand in Nederland&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Nederland aarzelt door zorgen over bedrijfsvertrek, alomtegenwoordige Europese wetgeving en gebrek aan handhaving. Bedrijven zijn terughoudend, maar de overheid moet een breder scala aan middelen inzetten voor duurzaamheidsdoelen.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-het-pad-naar-duurzaamheid-nbsp\">Het pad naar duurzaamheid&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>De Nederlandse overheid moet een mix van beloning en dwang gebruiken om duurzaamheidsdoelen te behalen. Een sterker normerend beleid is cruciaal, maar handhaving moet daarbij een prioriteit zijn.
