Bij Capgemini Engineering heeft ze beide gevonden: \u2018Natuurlijk is niet iedere dag&nbsp;<em>smooth and sunny<\/em>. Maar omdat we elkaar&nbsp;<em>supporten<\/em>, zitten de mindere dagen ons niet in de weg.\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Drie jaar geleden woonde ik nog in Turkije. Ik werkte daar als testdirector bij een groot ICT-bedrijf. Samen met mijn gezin had ik een fijn en comfortabel leven. We hadden alleen \u00e9\u00e9n wens: onze comfortzone vergroten. Daarom besloten we naar Nederland te verhuizen. Via vrienden ben ik bij Capgemini Engineering terechtgekomen. Ze vertelden enthousiast over hun baan. Dat het een groot bedrijf is, maar niet zo voelt. En dat je geen hi\u00ebrarchie ervaart. Bij het eerste gesprek met Capgemini Engineering was er meteen een klik. Ik voelde me heel welkom en dacht: hier wil ik werken. Dat welkome gevoel heb ik nu nog steeds.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Ik begon als projectmanager en ben sinds een paar maanden Delivery Manager. Eerst lag de focus in mijn werk alleen op testprojects, nu houd ik me ook bezig met softwaredevelopment. Waar ik het meeste plezier uit haal? Het coachen van mijn collega\u2019s. Het team waar ik in zit bestond al, maar ik heb de teamsfeer gecre\u00eberd. Daar ben ik heel trots op. Het geheim van een goede sfeer zit in veel contact met elkaar hebben en elkaar alles gunnen. Zo geeft het mij veel voldoening als ik collega\u2019s zie groeien. Natuurlijk is bij ons ook niet iedere dag&nbsp;<em>smooth and sunny<\/em>. Maar omdat we elkaar&nbsp;<em>supporten<\/em>, zitten die mindere dagen ons niet in de weg.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ontwikkeling-staat-op-een\">Ontwikkeling staat op \u00e9\u00e9n<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Het is een uitdaging om in de consultancy een goede werkcultuur te cre\u00ebren, omdat iedereen op verschillende plekken werkt. Ik heb er dan ook extra bewondering voor dat Capgemini Engineering er t\u00f3ch in slaagt. Wat het zo\u2019n fijne werkgever maakt, is dat je ontwikkeling op \u00e9\u00e9n staat. En blije werknemers zorgen voor blije opdrachtgevers. Het heeft allemaal verband met elkaar. Omdat ik het heel belangrijk vind om mezelf te blijven ontwikkelen, voel ik me hier helemaal op mijn plek. Wil ik iets anders proberen, dan zijn er eindeloos veel mogelijkheden binnen Capgemini Engineering. Ik hoef daarvoor niet van werkgever te switchen.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Toen ik begon bij Capgemini Engineering was ik een beetje een controlfreak. Ik was erg gericht op resultaat en had een heel perfectionistische mindset. Van mijn collega\u2019s en managers heb ik geleerd dit te veranderen. Nog steeds vind ik het resultaat van mijn werk belangrijk, maar ik push mezelf niet meer zo hard. Lukt iets niet door externe omstandigheden, dan ben ik niet meer gedemotiveerd. De werkcultuur is hier sowieso anders dan in Turkije. Daar maakte het niet uit of ik zestig uur per week werkte, als ik mijn opdracht maar afkreeg. Anders was ik zelf ook niet tevreden. Nu zie ik in dat vooral de moeite die je in werk stopt belangrijk is. Dat heeft mij zachter gemaakt voor mezelf en voor mijn collega\u2019s.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-digitaal-kopje-koffie\">Digitaal kopje koffie<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018In de toekomst blijf ik mij focussen op het verschil maken. Niet alleen bij de klant, maar ook in mijn team. Tijdens corona merkte ik hoe belangrijk het is om dat beetje extra te doen voor je team. Op de eerste dag dat we verplicht thuis moesten werken, kwam ik met het idee voor koffiesessie. Drie dagen per week dronken we samen digitaal een kopje. We hadden \u00e9\u00e9n regel: we mochten het niet over werk hebben, alleen over ons priv\u00e9leven. And she found both at Capgemini Engineering: \u2018Not every day is smooth and sunny, of course. But we support one another, so we don\u2019t let the bad days get us down.\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Three years ago, I was working as a test director at a major ICT firm in Turkey. I had a pleasant, comfortable life with my family. But we wanted to expand our comfort zone, so we decided to move to the Netherlands. I learned about Capgemini Engineering via some friends of mine. They were so enthusiastic when they talked about their job; about how it\u2019s a big company, but doesn\u2019t feel like one. And how you don\u2019t experience hierarchy. I felt a click during the first interview with Capgemini Engineering. I immediately felt welcome, and I thought: this is where I want to work. And I still have that feeling of being welcome.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018I started as a project manager, and a few months ago I began work as delivery manager. At first, my work only focused on test projects, but now I also work on software development. What do I enjoy most about my work? Coaching my colleagues. My team existed before I got here, but I created the team atmosphere. That\u2019s something I\u2019m really proud of. The secret to a good atmosphere lies in having a lot of contact with one another, and wishing each other the best. It gives me a lot of satisfaction to see my colleagues grow. Not every day here is smooth and sunny, of course. But we support one another, so we don\u2019t let the bad days get us down.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Development is priority #1<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Creating a good work culture in consultancy is a challenge, because everyone works at different locations. So I\u2019m even more impressed by the fact that Capgemini Engineering makes it happen. What makes it such a great employer is that development is priority number 1. And happy employees make happy clients. It\u2019s all tied together. I think it\u2019s important to continue developing as a person, so I feel right at home here. And if I want to try something different, there are endless opportunities within Capgemini Engineering. So I wouldn\u2019t have to switch employers.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018When I started at Capgemini Engineering, I was a bit of a control freak. I was really focused on results, and I had a perfectionist mindset. But I\u2019ve learned to change that from my colleagues and my managers. I still think the results of my work are important, but I don\u2019t push myself as hard anymore. I don\u2019t get demotivated anymore when external factors get in the way. The work culture here is also a lot different from what I\u2019d been accustomed to in Turkey. There, it didn\u2019t matter if I had to work 60 hours per week, as long as I completed the assignment. Otherwise I wouldn\u2019t be satisfied with myself. But now, I realize that the important thing is the effort you put into your work. That makes me more accepting of myself and my colleagues.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Digital coffee break<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018In the future, I\u2019ll keep focusing on making a difference. Not just for the client, but also within my team. During the pandemic, I noticed how important it is to go the extra mile for your team. On the first day we were required to work from home, I came up with the idea for a coffee session. Three days per week, we\u2019d take a digital coffee break together. We only had one rule: we couldn\u2019t talk about work &#8211; only our private lives. I aim to do everything in my power to hold on to the pleasant work atmosphere we have now.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Do you think a pleasant work culture is vital, just like
