Capgemini’s Agribusiness presents in the series Bytes against Hunger: Trust in the Agri-food chain.
This event will take place on Wednesday 6 November in Utrecht, Leidsche Rijn. During this event we offer you a varied program with lectures, live demonstrations and topic-specific presentations about Trust in the Agri-food chain.
We are proud to announce the following keynote speakers:
Dr. John de la Parra, Associate at the Harvard University Herbaria, How to Build Lasting Food Security: From Ancient Knowledge to Digital Agriculture:
John is an ethnobotanist and plant chemist with expertise in medicinal plants and food crops. He currently holds appointments as an Associate at the Harvard University Herbaria, as a Lecturer of Environmental Studies at Tufts University, and a Lecturer of Biotechnology at Northeastern University. The coming digital agricultural revolution will rely on vast amounts of agricultural data for advanced AI/machine learning techniques. However, this revolution will need to grow out of a long ethnobotanical legacy that holds its own vast troves of vital information. The integration of that ancient agricultural knowledge with cutting-edge agricultural techniques will ultimately lead to greater global trust in the agri-food chain as well as lasting food security, enhanced flavor, nutritional value, biodiversity, and plant-based pharmaceutical/nutraceutical production. This talk will explore multiple strategies for achieving all these important goals for the coming digital agricultural revolution.
Kristine Swan, Head of IT Business Partnering, Digital Farming Bayer Crop Science: Bayer’s Digital Transformation Journey
Kristine is a digital business strategy professional with over 20 years of global leadership across commercial and IT. She will share Bayer Crop Science’s digital transformation journey, how they are using digital internally, their view on the value for farmers, and the impact the transformation is having on the agricultural ecosystem.
