From outsourcing to cloud sourcing

Capgemini and Microsoft leverage strategic partnership to enable Data Center Transformation with Microsoft Azure for Dutch clients

Many organizations are looking to modernize their infrastructure and applications to enable digital transformation, reduce infrastructure footprint and cost, and increase flexibility. End-to-end digital transformation requires a secure, robust, and decomplexified infrastructure. However, it is no secret that data centers have become exponentially more complex in recent years. Hence, Capgemini and Microsoft jointly offer a dedicated service, Data Center Transformation with Microsoft Azure, to transfer the customer’s infrastructure from a data center to Microsoft Azure. This will include the many SAP users that are looking to move and run SAP on Azure.

What can clients expect from this service for migrating to the cloud?

Data Center Transformation with Microsoft Azure brings together capabilities and bolsters the intense collaboration between both organizations. This will support customers on several aspects such as business casing, migration approaches, and use of automated tooling. This reduces the cost of transition, increasing both pace and quality at the same time. Capgemini has a diverse and growing community of Microsoft experts in the Netherlands that help clients migrate to cloud without disrupting business-critical processes.

Capgemini supports its customers in their full journey to the cloud, not only with migrations to Azure, but also by offering a flexible infrastructure including the managed service for cloud. This strategic partnership will further boost Capgemini’s strong Microsoft capabilities for supporting customers to modernize their applications and data estate—something organizations are eager for.

Hans van Waayenburg, Chairman, Capgemini Netherlands said, “Many of our customers are keen to modernize their infrastructure and applications to enable digital transformation. Capgemini has the people, the knowledge, and the skills to rapidly achieve a successful migration from their datacenter to Microsoft Azure. Together with Microsoft, we can handle all phases of delivery, from strategy and planning to implementation and execution, proactively leveraging cost savings to boost business value and applied innovation.”

Ernst-Jan Stigter, General Manager, Microsoft Netherlands said, We are absolutely excited that we have been able to take a big leap with Capgemini. Together we will be leveraging the power of the cloud to enable digital success of our customers. Not only will this partnership substantially benefit customers in terms of costs, it will also accelerate the speed of their innovation and therefore positively impact business.  Together with Capgemini we look to inspire many others to take this step with us.

To anticipate the growing demand for data center transformation services with Microsoft Azure, Capgemini is currently speeding up its efforts to train and recruit additional Microsoft Azure specialists. This is mainly to migrate customers who want to transform their infrastructure to Azure Cloud. As a system integrator, Capgemini can design either hybrid or multi-cloud environments. The transition from a CAPEX to an OPEX model means that IT costs can be redesigned to be proportionate to the business, as customers buy functionality instead of infrastructure.
Additionally, Capgemini’s SAP to cloud solution, co-developed with Microsoft, includes everything needed to migrate and run SAP in the cloud, and to harvest the business benefits of using Microsoft Azure. In combination with Capgemini’s extensive experience in implementing and running SAP, it is in pole position to support clients in their journey to the cloud.
