Ingolstadt/Berlin, September 3, 2012 – Capgemini, one of the world’s foremost providers of consulting, technology and outsourcing services, and Europe’s leading consumer electronics retailer Media-Saturn, have signed an IT outsourcing contract. Capgemini, represented by its subsidiary Capgemini Outsourcing Services GmbH, will host the data centers and deliver the central IT infrastructure services for Media-Saturn operations in 16 countries in Europe and Asia and including more than 900 locations. The contract period spans several years.
Now commencing with the transition period, Capgemini will take over full responsibility for all central IT infrastructure services at the corporate headquarters of Media-Saturn in Ingolstadt, Germany, and its own marketing agency redblue Marketing in Munich, Germany, from Q2 2013. Capgemini will provide infrastructure services including data center services, management of operating systems and storage & backup services. Capgemini will leverage its Rightshore® delivery network comprising resources from Germany, Poland, and India and thereby ensure the client receives the appropriate services for further developing its business.
Oliver Schwarz, CEO of Capgemini’s Infrastructure Services unit in Germany, Austria and Switzerland describes this deal as another proof of concept of the Capgemini capabilities: “We can offer our client a tailored combination of infrastructure services, which will enable them to benefit from the transformation of their IT.”
