Hemos pedido a Karina Heikkila, que padece un complejo trastorno de estr\u00e9s postraum\u00e1tico, que nos d\u00e9 su punto de vista personal. Aqu\u00ed, Karina habla directamente de sus experiencias de trabajo en Capgemini y de c\u00f3mo podemos hacer del lugar de trabajo un entorno m\u00e1s inclusivo y comprensivo.<\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"wp-block-cg-blocks-group undefined section section--article-content\"><div class=\"article-main-content\"><div class=\"container\"><div class=\"row\"><div class=\"col-12 col-md-11 col-lg-10 offset-md-1 offset-lg-1\"><div class=\"article-text article-quote-text\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.capgemini.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Karina-Heikkila.webp?w=300\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-697229\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abLo primero que tengo que decir es que no me considero una persona discapacitada. Considero que padezco un trastorno de estr\u00e9s postraum\u00e1tico complejo (TEPTc). Es una caracter\u00edstica del funcionamiento de mi cerebro y mi cuerpo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abA nivel pr\u00e1ctico, significa que sentirme segura es muy importante para m\u00ed. La seguridad no es algo que busque conscientemente, pero mi cuerpo reacciona ante situaciones en las que no me siento segura. As\u00ed que se puede decir que soy supersensible a los est\u00edmulos externos. Esto significa que en mi entorno de trabajo en Capgemini -donde paso un tercio de mi tiempo- la seguridad, de todo tipo, es muy importante.\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-un-lugar-seguro\"><strong>Un lugar seguro<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.capgemini.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Capgemini_Inside-Stories_Neurodiversity_Time-to-listen_1.webp?w=960\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-697225\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Crear un entorno en el que los empleados neurodivergentes se sientan incluidos y seguros es clave para maximizar el valor de un lugar de trabajo diverso.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abLlegu\u00e9 a Capgemini hace dos a\u00f1os tras una breve carrera jur\u00eddica. Antes de eso, pas\u00e9 25 a\u00f1os en diversos puestos de TI. Ahora soy director asociado en Melbourne (Australia) y trabajo como arquitecto de propuestas. Fuera de esto, soy presidente de nuestra comunidad de neurodiversidad aqu\u00ed en Australia y Nueva Zelanda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abCuando llegu\u00e9 a Capgemini, el entorno me pareci\u00f3 en general muy acogedor y comprensivo. Por ejemplo, mi jefe es consciente de mi TEPTc y me ayuda a evitar asumir demasiado trabajo, que es algo que s\u00e9 que soy propensa a hacer para sentirme segura.\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-impactos-dificiles\"><strong>Impactos dif\u00edciles<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abA veces, mi c-TEPT puede provocar una aparici\u00f3n inmediata de ansiedad extrema y niebla cerebral, y puede minar temporalmente mi confianza. El TEPT-C ha sido una caracter\u00edstica de mi ser desde que era ni\u00f1a, aunque no me lo diagnosticaron hasta los 30 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abAunque he buscado ayuda para mi enfermedad y soy proactiva en su tratamiento, no puedo \u201ccurarme\u201d con t\u00e9cnicas y medicamentos. Con el c-TEPT, mis reacciones se \u00abescribieron\u00bb en mi cerebro y mi cuerpo a medida que me desarrollaba hasta la edad adulta. Por lo tanto, forma parte de m\u00ed\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-orgullosos-de-ser-diversos\"><strong>Orgullosos de ser diversos<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.capgemini.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Capgemini_Inside-Stories_Neurodiversity_Time-to-listen_2.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-697226\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Con los recursos adecuados, las personas que se identifican como neurodivergentes suelen encontrar carreras gratificantes y prosperar en la industria tecnol\u00f3gica.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abDe hecho, vivir con TEPT-C es algo que he llegado a apreciar y de lo que me siento orgulloso. Por ejemplo, estoy muy en sinton\u00eda con la forma en que los dem\u00e1s interact\u00faan entre s\u00ed, algo que tengo en com\u00fan con muchos de mis maravillosos colegas neurodivergentes de Capgemini.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abEsto incluye a las personas que se identifican con el trastorno del espectro autista, el TDAH, la dislexia y el s\u00edndrome de Asperger, entre otras cohortes. Muchos de nosotros, aunque no seamos neurodivergentes, tenemos sensibilidades similares que pueden desencadenar respuestas diferentes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abCreo firmemente que las personas neurodivergentes a\u00f1aden valor a las organizaciones. Fundamentalmente, si nuestras experiencias contribuyen a crear una cultura en la que sea seguro hablar, y si se satisfacen nuestras necesidades en cuanto a la forma de trabajar, beneficiar\u00e1 a todos los miembros de la organizaci\u00f3n desde el punto de vista de la salud mental\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abEsto es fundamental porque, en un momento dado, el <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abs.gov.au\/statistics\/health\/mental-health\">20%<\/a> de la poblaci\u00f3n sufre alg\u00fan tipo de problema de salud mental. De hecho, el 12% de nosotros padecer\u00e1 alg\u00fan tipo de TEPT a lo largo de su vida, y esta afecci\u00f3n no se desconecta por el mero hecho de estar trabajando.\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-cuidado-y-atencion\"><strong>Cuidado y atenci\u00f3n<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.capgemini.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Capgemini_Inside-Stories_Neurodiversity_Time-to-listen_3.webp?w=300\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-697227\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">El liderazgo consiste en comprender todos los aspectos de lo que significa estar en un lugar de trabajo diverso y reconocer el valor que aporta.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00bfQu\u00e9 conclusiones podemos sacar de estas cifras? Para m\u00ed, ponen de relieve la importancia de tener en cuenta a nuestros colegas. Si queremos prosperar como individuos, como equipos y como organizaci\u00f3n, debemos hacer de la aceptaci\u00f3n y la adaptaci\u00f3n de las diferencias una responsabilidad compartida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abDebemos vivir realmente nuestros valores de respeto, de ser sensibles a las distintas formas de ser. Esto requiere tiempo, aprendizaje, paciencia y pr\u00e1ctica. Las organizaciones requieren un liderazgo fuerte y verdaderamente diverso que adopte formas diferentes y m\u00e1s emp\u00e1ticas de interactuar.\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-mejorar-el-lugar-de-trabajo\"><strong>Mejorar el lugar de trabajo<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abLos empresarios que quieran mejorar los lugares de trabajo para personas como yo deben asegurarse de que todos los miembros de la organizaci\u00f3n sigan aprendiendo sobre las distintas caracter\u00edsticas y discapacidades: las que est\u00e1n a la vista y las que no.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abEn t\u00e9rminos pr\u00e1cticos, deber\u00edamos reconsiderar c\u00f3mo asignamos tareas y funciones laborales, y c\u00f3mo podemos contratar con sensibilidad a distintos tipos de personas con necesidades diferentes. S\u00f3lo entonces podremos llegar a ser verdaderamente diversos como organizaci\u00f3n y beneficiarnos de todo el poder que ello conlleva.\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-cosechar-los-beneficios\"><strong>Cosechar los beneficios<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abIndependientemente de la cohorte a la que pertenezcamos, todos debemos sentirnos seguros a la hora de expresar lo que necesitamos para prosperar.
