Position Title: L2 Application Support Engineer

Job overview:
Provide follow-the-sun operational support for client’s global web infrastructure platform; duties include:Provide follow-the-sun operational support for client’s global web infrastructure platform; duties include:

  •  Administration of Web Server infrastructure
  •  Apache, IIS Web Server
  • Administrative support for the firm’s global SharePoint farms
  • Administration of JEE Application Servers
  • Tomee, Tomcat, WebLogic, Jboss
  • Support for FTP, FTP-PGP file transfer infrastructure
  • Administrative support for the firm’s global External and Internal Portal Sites.


  • Administration and first/second line support of client’s web infrastructure environment
  • Maintaining an overview of the infrastructure supported by the team
  • Maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders including developers and end users
  • Ensuring standard and cohesive monitoring is applied across the relevant infrastructures
  • Working with global counterparts for issue resolution and escalation
  • Problem ownership from reporting to resolution or escalation
  • Following the firm’s best practices including managing changes to supported systems, and incident reporting


  • Strong knowledge and working experience with Windows
  • Strong knowledge of IIS/.NET servers
  • Familiarity with SharePoint 2007-2016/Avepoint
  • Knowledge of common web proxies/caches
  • Knowledge of LDAP servers and clients
  • Scripting skills (e.g. Perl, Unix shell, VB, PowerShell)
  • Basic HTML/JSP/ASP/CGI/PHP/JavaScript
  • TCP/IP networks and common internet protocols – such as HTTP and FTP
  • Knowledge of software and hardware load balancers


  • Linux fundamentals
  • Strong knowledge of common Linux web/JEE servers (esp. JBoss EAP, TomEE)
  • Java and JEE development environments
  • Working experience in building internet facing infrastructure
  • Knowledge of Public Cloud (esp.AWS)
  • Use of service management tools e.g. Remedy/ServiceNow etc.
  • Understanding of the configuration and customisation of web browsers
  • Familiarity with SharePoint 365
  • Any background working with large multi-tenant web farms
  • Knowledge in PKI
  • Working experience in managing development environment and tools
  • Working experience in international/enterprise working environment
  • Knowledge of Capital markets area and banking systems
