Vice President, Sales Lead, Telecommunications APJ

An experienced sales leader, you will be responsible for creating, developing and managing opportunities for large, complex, multi-year, $multi-million total contract value (TCV) technology consulting and services deals in Telecom Sector across Asia Pac and Japan.


  • Own the bookings in APJ for Telco
  • You’ll develop deep and trusted advisor relationships with CXO level stakeholders in the region
  • Work with country leadership teams to coach, mentor, and solution large deals
  • Leverage your existing network and knowledge of Telco industry trends and client’s strategic objectives & challenges to develop and deliver compelling value propositions
  • Partner with diverse, matrix, sales pursuit teams to deliver winning proposals to customers
  • Develop sales strategies and tailored value propositions and solutions for clients. These will be specific to each country/region
  • Develop and manage a sales pipeline/forecast and closures for Telco


Let’s talk about your qualifications and experience:  


  • Several years’ experience of selling large complex, IT integration and/or outsourcing services contracts with a long lead time / sales cycle from qualification to close
  • Be able to operate at an executive level for clients and internal teams to become a trusted advisor/mentor. Executive presence and gravitas with existing relationships and influence at the ‘C-Level’ / ‘C-Suite’ / CXO level in Telco
  • Experience of selling telecom transformation and managed services
  • Demonstrable track record of winning new business, new logos, ‘white space’, opening up previously out of scope areas of existing clients and/or displacing incumbent providers
  • Experience selling large, complex outsourcing opportunities that include multiple integrated service offerings focusing on value and business outcomes
  • Understanding of Telco industry business environment, issues and trends
  • Experience with the consultative sales approach in analysing challenges of potential clients and leading commercial conversations around Return On Investment (ROI) and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) with CXO level stakeholders

  • Excellent oral, written & presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a global, matrix organization with on-shore & off-shore service delivery model
  • Personal interest in macro-economic, political and other global factors influencing business
  • Contemporary knowledge and understanding of innovation and technical advancements within the Telco industry such as 5G, SDN, NFV, the NBN and competition, pricing and industry nuances
  • Experience with sales pipeline reporting, forecasting and governance in a CRM system, ideally Salesforce
