Test Designer

Let’s talk about the Role:

  • Design test scenarios in adherence with UniSuper testing framework, through the analysis and investigation of requirements, solution designs and process documentation 
  • Structure test scenarios within a test suite that provides for timely completion of testing, appropriate test coverage, the capture of relevant and accurate test results 
  • Create, execute, and maintain test cases relating to specific functional or technical requirements 
  • Identify test data requirements in preparation for test execution 
  • Raise any defects found during testing, manage through to closure and, where necessary, escalate in accordance with UniSuper defect management procedures 
  • Provide testing status updates by producing test progress reports to team leads and management 
  • Provide guidance and clarification to the automated test team on test case intent and outcome 
  • Clear and regular communication with stakeholders and team members 
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities with a focus on SPEED, QUALITY, INNOVATION in order to reduce key dependencies

  • Willingness to learn new technology skills to remain nimble, flexible, adaptive in the testing process 
  • Problem analysis skills 
  • Solid understanding of sustainable test design & best practices 
  • Proven experience in creation, enhancement/maintenance and execution of test cases 
  • Strong technical documentation/interpretation skills 
  • Critical thinking attributes with ability to solve problems in a measured and creative way 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Effective planning and time management skills 
  • Flexible & adaptable in the face of changing priorities or circumstances 
  • Willingness to learn new technology skills to keep pace with the improvements of the testing process 
  • Work effectively independently and as a member of a team 
  • Extensive procedure and system knowledge 
  • Strong Agile and Waterfall methodology experience 
  • Demonstrable experience delivering effective and efficient functional testing on projects 
  • Financial experience highly regarded
