Job Title: Release Manager

Location:  Texas or  Florida
Duration: Fulltime

Job Description: 

  • Hands on Technical knowledge to build an end to end automated release management pipeline – strong hands on jira, bitbucket, Jenkins, RLM, deployment architecture, troubleshooting release issues including failed automated deployments, ensuring start / stop scripts, config scripts are properly configured and tested in lower environments etc  
  • Technical ability to run deployment scripts via RLM
  • Process oriented with focus on ensuring established process if followed each cycle including ensuring approvals from all tech leads, SMT approval for exception deployments, deployment schedule and plan, Green Zone co-ordination, Release runbook
  • Forward Plan the release windows and cycles across a portfolio
  • Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality – conduce lessons learned after each release to ensure issues don’t repeat and identify opportunities to improve release process
  • Coordinate release content and effort based on the service request backlog, pending service requests, third party applications, or operating system updates
  • Work with release engineers to understand impacts of branches and code merges
  • Maintains the release schedule for all core services and ensure alignment across key partners and vendors.
  • Continually work towards making improvements in the release process
  • Lead and co-ordinate the Go-Live activities including the execution of the deployment Plans and checklists.
  • Develops scripts and automation tools used to build, integrate, and deploy software releases to various platforms

Job Responsibilities

  • Release Mgmt Stack – Bitbucket, JIRA, Jenkins, RLM
  • Development Stack – Java, Springboot, Tomcat, WebSphere 
  • 6years – 8Y of previous release and/or project management experience, (Solid understanding of project management principles preferred)
  • 8-10 years of experience in information systems operations environment in systems analysis or development
  • Formal training and knowledge in project management practices preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
  • ITIL Foundation certification
