Job description

As a Software Development Manager, whilst being technical and hands-on capable, you will lead, guide and mentor our Microsoft.NET and PHP developers. By acquiring and building the best skills in each area, you will support delivery of successful projects. This will include working closely with the Project Managers, Architects and other Capabilities as well as liaising with key project stakeholders as required.

Working closely with Senior Developers who will support you in particular areas, you will ensure the structured and coordinated planning of your team’s development. Your wide technical background and experience will ensure you can offer the support and guidance required to support an assist Software Developers at technical level.
This role offers challenges across a wide variety of projects and responsibilities, including the opportunity to influence the future direction of the team and technologies used across the business.

To apply for this role, in addition to having a proven management background (could be an informal role) you must also have proven technical capability combined with experience in the leadership of software development teams. You will be joining a large team of diverse skills and experience and the job requires a motivated individual who is experienced in taking responsibility and can independently deliver results on both departmental and business projects.

Main accountabilities

  • Line management and personal development of a software development team (up to 25-30 people)
  • Ensuring team capability growth by driving successful recruitment and attrition prevention,
  • Support HR process (promotions and pay increases),
  • Being responsible for basic financial administration (Travel Expense approval,1st level OPEX costs /22k PLN limit/ approval),
  • Supporting project resource scheduling and department capacity planning,
  • Capable of understanding and contributing to the solutions created by the software development team from design through implementation and testing, up to handover to support teams,
  • Ensure awareness, involvement and support from the key stakeholders and participants by building strong project teams and maintaining robust communication on the project status throughout its life cycle,
  • Work closely with relevant teams internally to ensure alignment and coordination across operations as part of the seamless implementation of existing and new projects,
  • Supporting project resource scheduling and department capacity planning,
  • Ownership, development and management of allocated departmental processes,
  • Undertake small analysis projects in the form of consultancy,
  • Work on a wide range of Software Development projects in Cloud & Infrastructure Services area,
  • Take responsibility for making key decisions to ensure the successful implementation of all initiatives,
  • Hands on involvement in implementation activities, according to project needs.


  • Experience in people management and the ability to lead and influence others,
  • Experience in formal personal development planning and individual team and process performance management,
  • Experience in Software Development Process Lifecycle,
  • Experience in requirements capture, analysis techniques and process improvement approaches,
  • Strong facilitation and coaching skills,
  • Excellent personal organization and ability to prioritize and carry out multiple tasks,
  • Comfortable working without routine supervision,
  • A desire to remain technically capable.
