Digital Engineering and Manufacturing Services (DEMS) brings together deep domain expertise to lead the convergence of the physical and digital worlds through technology, engineering, and manufacturing expertise. Consulting, technology, and assets-led solutions enable global companies to unlock the true potential of their product portfolios and manufacturing efficiencies. 

Let’s talk about the role and responsibilities:  

 The Automation Hardware Development team develop and implement automation hardware and embedded systems that support various automation platforms.  The team functions include:
  • Custom hardware (including 3rd party) and embedded system design
  • Control system design and implementation
  • Automation system manufacture and testing
  • Manufacture, Install and commission prototype automation hardware
  • Assist with new product deployment handover and transition to support
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships within the Product Groups and Business Units in order to deliver documentation that meets user needs.
The Automation Engineer role is primarily responsible for supporting the Automation Hardware Development team in the development and integration of Automation Hardware.

Let’s talk about your qualifications and experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in Electrical, Control Systems, Mechatronics, or similar discipline
  • At least 6 years engineering experience in an operational environment working on Hardware Integration 
  • Cisco CCENT qualification or similar and Certified Functional Safety Engineer (FSENG) 
  • Experience in automation development design and Embedded Systems Design
  • Strong PLC programming skills, intermediate networking skills, and familiarity with control system signalling methods
  • Ability to conceptualise and analyse complex systems
  • Ability to read and create electrical schematics
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal & written
