An overview of the role

To provide an Environment Management Service that maintains the integrity of the SAP Landscape and supports SAP live release deliveries, through strong leadership and stakeholder management skills and an appreciation of the SAP Landscape. Will also be heavily involved in Landscape design and alignment of relevant Environment support activities, aligning with technical (BASIS and Engineering teams and architecture).

The work

You’ll be working in the SAP Delivery Centre within the HMRC Market Unit. The SAP Delivery Centre is responsible for managing a large complex SAP landscape with multi-track developments on behalf of the client. You will develop and sustain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and the client, ensuring requirements (including testing, patching, restores and back-ups) are understood, planned and controlled to uphold environment integrity and support the smooth delivery of live releases.

The role also involves problem resolution, solution design input, people management, strategy development and driving forward best practice and process enhancements.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SAP Environments Manager to work with our SAP team which promotes and implements the SAP Tax and Revenue Management and Enterprise Resource Planning solutions for HMRC, which is the largest implementation of its kind globally. We are a dynamic and fast-moving business unit, with an expectation of further growth over the coming years to ensure that we can continue to deliver high quality SAP solutions for HMRC.

Situated in SAP Operations Area, the Environment Management function works closely alongside Change and Release Management, Configuration Management Services, Quality and Compliance and Technical Change Governance, to play a key role in providing essential support services across the SAP Delivery Centre. 

You’ll work with a range of specialisms involved in project delivery including Project / Program managers, Delivery Managers, Scrum Masters and technical team members and architecture such as Architecture and test leads; as well as engaging regularly with the client.
