An overview of the role

As a SAP Business Analyst you will part of a large team that supports different streams of work for all the SAP Projects and Services for the HMRC Account, across a wide variety of Tax and Benefit regimes. Working closely with the SAP Functional Consultants you will have responsibility for understanding user needs, working closely with our business partners, translating problems or requirements into user stories and defining acceptance criteria.  Business Analysts are highly customer focused and are responsible for building highly collaborative internal and external stakeholder relationships, supporting their scrum teams to achieve team goals. Analytical thinking, problem-solving and communication skills are core to effective business analysis.

You’ll find this is an extremely dynamic role with opportunities to develop SAP expertise, as well as the client facing soft skills you need to excel in IT consulting.

The work

As a SAP Business Analyst, you will be expected to:

•    Responsible for building highly collaborative internal and external stakeholder relationships
•    Lead in producing user stories and acceptance criteria
•    Supports effective business analysis through analytical thinking, problem-solving and communication skills
•    Contribute to sprint planning sessions, daily stand ups and retrospectives
•    Lead, contribute and support use research activities
•    Gain knowledge and expertise in specific SAP technologies and modules, working closely with the SAP technical teams or/and other team members

Why you?

•    SAP knowledge: core logic of ERP, strategy, Waterfall and Agile methodologies and tools; 
•    Experience in the SAP TRM (Tax and Revenue Management) is very desirable but not mandatory;
•    Knowledge of requirements capture methods and techniques, business systems and analysis, front end process, software development lifecycles and associated processes
•    Proficient in the use of requirements capturing methodology toolsets e.g. JIRA and Confluence and working with Agile approach using Scrum methodology.
•    Able to use data modelling techniques
•    Ability to plan and organise workload to achieve deadlines, prioritising where necessary.
•    Strong communications skills and ability to communicate and influence at all levels, which you’ll use to engender trust in client relationships, and to build supportive and productive team relationships
•    Attention to detail
•    Detailed understanding of Systems Lifecycles
